Elaine Marie Wright

Elaine Marie Wright, 65, of Murray City, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at The Laurels of Athens. She was born December 22, 1948 in Murray City, the daughter of the late Philmore and Margaret McFann Matheny. She was the widow of the late George Wright.

She loved being a nurse and was employed at Doctors Hospital Nelsonville for 28 years. She was also a member of the Nelsonville Church of the Nazarene

Elaine is survived by her daughter, Jamie Wright of Zanesville; stepsons, Steve (Tasani) Wright, Greg (Sharon) Wright and Jeff (Lanette) Wright all of Coshocton; brother, Lewis Matheny of Tomball, TX; sisters, Barbara Williams of Murray City and JoAnn (Michael) Thompson of Buchtel.

In addition to her husband, George, and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Carl and Harold Matheny and a nephew, Dale Lyons.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Rev. Ed True officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery New Addition, Nelsonville. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to be made to FairHope Hospice, 282 Sells Rd., Lancaster, OH 43130.
