Rudolph "Buzz" W. Rempel

Rudolph W. “Buzz” Rempel, 82, of Logan, who was a loving husband, daddy and grandpa, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster. He was born May 16, 1932 in Logan, son of the late Rudolph H. and Agnes L. Heft Rempel. Buzz was married to Betty Funk Rempel, who survives.

He retired from Logan Clay Products Co. after 47 years, where he was Assistant Secretary Treasurer. Buzz was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, a member of the Hocking Hills United Methodist Church, a retired Fiscal Officer for Falls Township and was a former treasurer for the Logan City School Board.

In addition to his wife, Buzz is survived by his daughters, Brenda D’Antha (Larry) Harper of Chillicothe, Bethann R. (Keith) Goss of Springboro, Pennsylvania and Bridgette L. (RJ) Labrador of Cedar Park, Texas; grandchildren, John M. Huffman III of Chillicothe, Brittany R. (Thomas) Able of Pompano Beach, Florida and Lucas W. Labrador of Cedar Park, Texas and a sister, Clara Belle Bartholomew of High Springs, Florida.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 18, 2014 in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, with Rev. Jerry Frazee officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Logan. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and on Wednesday, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Rudolph W. “Buzz” Rempel to Trinity Lutheran Church, 430 N. Mulberry St., Logan, Ohio, 43138, honoring the church that the Rempel family helped found in 1881, or to the Al Horsky Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 1090, Logan, Ohio 43138.
