Olive Hazel Harper

Olive Hazel Harper, 94, of Chillicothe, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe. She was born January 2, 1920, in Allensville, daughter of the late Nathan Ross and Addie Sowers Miller. Hazel was the widow of the late Alvin Carl Harper.

She retired from Buckeye Automatic in McArthur.

Hazel is survived by her son, Gary (Charlotte) Harper of Middleport; daughter, Sherry (George) Graves of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Tam (Vern) Riley, Carl (Casey) Harper, Franklynn (Brooks) Moore and Georgia (Chris) Ricci; step grandsons, Steve (Mindy) Peckam, Jeff Peckham, Greg (Cheryl) Peckham and Tim (Diana) Wamsley; great grandchildren, Matthew Pierce, Monica (Kevin) Post, Garret, Gunner and Gibson Harper, Emerson Moore, Josephine, Roman and Caroline Ricci and four great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Owen and Orville Miller and sisters, Oval Walker, Irene Fry and Jean Walsh.

Funeral services will be held 1 P.M., Friday, July 25, 2014 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur. Interment will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Vinton County. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
