Elbert "Red" Leroy Cunningham

Elbert "Red" Leroy Cunningham, 78, of Nelsonville, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Doctors Hospital Nelsonville. He was born September 13, 1935 in Nelsonville, son of the late Everette and Isabelle McDonald Cunningham. He was married to Deedra "Dee Dee" Carver Cunningham, who survives.

Elbert was a self employed carpenter.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brothers, Robert Cunningham of Nelsonville, Junior (Pat) Cunningham of Arizona and Clarence Cunningham of Albany; sisters, Sharon (Leonard) Newlun of Nelsonville and Pauline Searles of New Lexington; sisters-in-law, Sue Sheward of Carbon Hill, Donna Cunningham of South Carolina and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Wilma Jean Cunningham; sisters, Audrey, Marjorie and Catherine and his brothers, John, Rev. Aaron, Pearly, Everett and Arthur.

Following cremation, no services will be held. Arrangements are by Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
