June Rose Fisk

June Rose Fisk, 87, of Nelsonville, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Logan Health Care Center. She was born June 16, 1927 in Athens County, the daughter of the late Willard Charles and Florence Lily Mourn Dishong.



June was retired from William Brooks Shoe Company and was previously employed at Sylvania Electric. She was a 1944 graduate of Nelsonville High School and was a talented softball player. She was an avid sports fan and loved to root for the Reds, the Browns, The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Nelsonville-York Buckeyes. June was about the greatest sister and aunt anyone could have.



June is survived by her sister, Phyllis McFadden of DePere, Wisconsin; special niece and nephews, Bunnie (Terry) Begley of Rockbridge, Kip May of Wisconsin and Kevin May of Florida all of whom will miss their aunt June; special great niece and nephew, Reagan and Parker May whom dearly loved and will miss their great aunt June; many other nieces and nephews and grandsons, Nathan and Gavin Haynes of Nelsonville.



In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sons David and John J Fisk; daughter, Sandra Sue Wood; sister, Marjorie Hammond; brothers, Gay, Joe and Ray Dishong and grandsons, Justin Haynes and John H. Fisk.



June’s wish was to be cremated and no services will be held. Arrangements are by Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St, Nelsonville.
