Robert E. Johnson Sr.

Robert E. Johnson Sr., 77, of Ray, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at his residence. He was born January 14, 1937 in Floyd County, Kentucky, son of the late Loyd and Gracie Thornsberry Johnson. Robert was married to Juanita R. Penix Johnson, who survives.

He retired from Buckeye Steel Castings in Columbus after 43 1/2 years.

Robert is survived by his sons, Thomas (Tammy) Johnson of Ray and Kelly (Rebecca) Johnson of Allensville; daughter, Brenda (Paul “Pete”) Campbell of Ray; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a brother, Derwood and sisters, Juanita, Pearl, Jeanette, Phyllis, Charlet and Geraldine.

A special thank you to his granddaughter, Erica Danielle Wampler, who helped take care of Robert.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Robert E. Johnson Jr.; brother, Alton Johnson and sister, Melvina McClurg.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, August 16, 2014 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Rev. Randall Minton officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
