Tommy Jarrell

August 6, 1937 — September 13, 2014

Tommy Jarrell, 77, of Logan, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Pickering House, Lancaster. He was born August 6, 1937 in Warfield, Kentucky, son of the late Isaac and Tinnie Hobbs Jarrell. He was married to Wilkie Stroud Jarrell, who survives, for 36 years.

Tommy retired from Lennox Industries after 35 years of service in Columbus and Marshalltown, Iowa. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Capital City Masonic Lodge #656 F&AM. He was a member of the Logan Eagles and Moose Lodges and loved to golf and deer hunt. He was an avid Ohio State and Cleveland Browns football fan. He will be fondly remembered as a Jack of all trades and a Master of all of them.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Leann (Mike) Graham of Reynoldsburg; son, Mark (Dawn) Jarrell of Olive Branch, Mississippi; stepsons, David (Sandra) Jarrell of Commercial Point and Dwayne Jarrell of Gahanna; grandchildren, Ashley Jarrell, Chelsea Jarrell, Steven Stratman, Madison Jarrell and Eric Graham; brothers, Luke (Oneida) Jarrell of North Carolina, Rufus (Jean) Jarrell of Ohio and Ray (Marilyn) Jarrell of Florida; sisters, Ola Simpkins and Rhoda (Jim) Hammock both of Ohio and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Henry, Elmer and Amos Jarrell.

Mr. Jarrell’s wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM, Monday, September 15, 2014 at Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. 2nd St., Logan with Rev. Charles Fidler officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 5:00 pm until the time of the service. A masonic service will be conducted at 6:30 pm by Mingo Lodge #171 F&AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donation in memory of Tommy Jarrell be sent to Pickering House, 282 Sells Rd., Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
