Mary Ann Maffin

Mary Ann Maffin, 55, of Athens, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Hickory Creek Nursing Center of Athens. She was born March 1, 1959 in Dennison, Ohio, the daughter of the late Charles and Harriet Carlson. She was the widow of the late Gilbert Lee Maffin Sr.

Mary is survived by sons, Gilbert Maffin Jr., George (Mary) Maffin, Rob (Sarah) Maffin, Bruce Foreman all of Athens and Benjamin Foreman; daughter, Shari (Greg) Woods of Athens; 18 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brother, Bryan Carlson of Athens and sister, Beth (James) Stilwell of Omaha, Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.


Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Rev. King Kelly officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call from 12:00 PM, until the time of service, at the funeral home.
