Regnald "Reggie" N. Spencer

Regnald N. “Reggie” Spencer, 86, of Nelsonville, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at his residence. He was born December 18, 1927 in Murray City, son of the late Melvin and Gladys Edgell Spencer. Reggie was married to Barbara Gibbons Spencer, who survives.

He was a building inspector for the City of Columbus and FHA. Reggie was an Army Veteran, a member of the Nelsonville Elks, the Logan Moose Lodge and the Logan Eagles.

Reggie is survived by his daughter, Shelia (Lamar Buckley) Rutter Buckley; stepsons, Jack (Denise) Hemsworth of Michigan and Alan (Cheryl) Hemsworth of Florida; grandchildren, Tim, Rob, Zak, Mike and Jonathan Hemsworth, Crystal, Jennifer and Jamie Hemsworth and Michael Rutter; ten great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Dan Green of Logan and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Stanley, Emmerson and Rothby Spencer and sisters, Juanita Thomas, Mona Jo Green, Arwilla Spencer and Averill Dean Stimmel.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Monday, September 22, 2014 in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville, with military graveside services being conducted by the Combined Color Guard Unit. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. with an Elks service being held at 3:30 p.m.
