Martha Faye "Marty" Smith

Martha Faye “Marty” Smith, 65 of Logan, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at her residence. She was born January 18, 1949 in Lancaster, daughter of Edward St. Clair of Logan and the late Opal A. Alltop St. Clair. She was married to Charles “Chuck” Smith, who survives.

Marty was retired from Washburn Travel in Athens after 36 years of service. She was a lifetime member of Webbs Chapel United Methodist Church and a member of Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority for 40 years.

Along with her husband, she is survived by her son, Scott (Jennie) Smith, of Logan; daughter, Jaime (Ben) Cole, of Logan; grandchildren, Caitlin Smith, Parker and Claire Cole; sisters Marilyn (Keith) Richey, of Centerville and Marty’s twin sister, Mary (Mike) Glenn, of Northville, MI, and her mother-in-law, Helen Smith, of Lancaster.

In addition to her mother, she is also preceded in death by her father in law, Charles “Huck” Smith.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 27, 2014 in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 East Second Street, Logan with Rev. Rick Bennington officiating. Interment will be in New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Rockbridge. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority services will be held at 7:30 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
