Mary Jo. Matthews

Mary Jo Matthews, 65, of Parkersburg, WV, passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Camden Clark Hospital in Parkersburg. She was born June 13, 1949 in Washington D.C., the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Castle Simms. She was the widow of the late Carl L. Matthews Sr.

Mary loved bingo and pull tabs.

She is survived by her special friend, Mike Barrows and his sons, Chris and Hayden; sons, Scott (Denise) Simms of Indiana, Carl (Annette) Matthews Jr. of Illinois; daughter, Erin “Sissy” Dryden of Vermilion, OH; grandchildren, Rex, Bethany, Christopher, Ashley, Brett, Shawna, Nate, Cory, Seth and Eric; 12 great grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild; brothers, George (Tina) Simms of Nelsonville, Joe (Chris) Simms of Missouri, Tony (Veda) Simms of Indiana, Mike (Pam) Simms, Eddie (Mary) Simms and Doug (Susie) Simms all of Nelsonville; sisters, Vi Shannon of Florida and Tammy (Tom) Harrison of Michigan.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Rev. King Kelly officiating. Cremation will follow. Friends may call from 11:00 AM, until the time of service, at the funeral home.
