Lester F. Schlosser, 94 of McArthur, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at The Lindley Inn in The Plains. He was born July 15, 1920, in Mosside, Alberta, Canada, son of the late Seymour Lester Schlosser and Estelle Hawkey Schlosser. On December 20, 1945, he was married to Lucille J. Bieler Schlosser, who precedes him in death.
Lester served in the Canadian Merchant Marines during WWII and was retired from General Telephone of Ohio with 45 years of service.
He is survived by his son, Michael (Vicky) Schlosser, of Albany; grandchildren Kim Cannell, Angie Burke, Leslee Barboza, and Ben Schlosser; 7 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews in Canada, the U.S West, and Western Ohio; special family friend Jane Egler.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; son Timothy Schlosser; granddaughter Kelly M. Schlosser; bother Lavern Schlosser; sisters Leona Rossman and Lillian Dailey.
Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 3, 2014 at Arlington Cemetery, Brookville, OH. Family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. at Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur.
Family requests memorial contributions be made to the Vinton County Senior Center, P.O. Box 481, McArthur, OH 45651 or the charity of choice.
