Lillie June Forrest

Lillie June Forrest, 81, of McArthur, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Maple Hills Nursing Home in McArthur. She was born July 9, 1933 in Vinton County, daughter of the late Lloyd and Mary Ellen Shaw Tatman. June was the widow of the late James G. Forrest.

She was a member of Walnut Grove Church and enjoyed going for walks and hunting for ginseng and mushrooms.

June is survived by her son, Jimmy Forrest of McArthur; daughters, Brenda (Randy) Azbell of Rockbridge, Rita (Rich) Paskins of New Plymouth, Wilma Gardner of McArthur, Ellen (Dewayne) Lackey of McArthur and Joan (Bill) Campbell of McArthur; fourteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Shirley Forrest; seven brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, December 5, 2014 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Pastor Bill Barnett officiating. Interment will be in Wolf Cemetery, Vinton County. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, from 5-8 p.m.
