Sam Harold R. Roush, 88, of McArthur, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015 at his residence. He was born October 13, 1926 in Mason, West Virginia, son of the late Loral D. Roush and Katie Roy Adams. Sam was married to the late Mary K. Zwilling Roush.
He was a retired auto mechanic for Whitelaw Auto in Columbus, a member of the McArthur Church of Christ and a life member of United Commercial Travelers.
Sam is survived by his sons, Kenneth (Vivian) Roush of Canal Winchester and George (Karen) Roush of McArthur; daughter, Karen (Mike) Bledsoe of McArthur; ten grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; brothers, David Roush of Arizona and Glen (Kay) Roush of Arizona; sisters, Audrey (Gene) Gresur of Columbus, Phyllis Stone of Columbus, Patricia (Pat) Rader of Baltimore and Peg McGowen of Portsmouth and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Laura Roush-Craycraft; grandson, Bruce Horn; great grandson, Trevor Roush; son-in-law, Ronnie Horn; sisters, Alice Adams and Barb Todd and brothers, Bob Adams and Claude Roush.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Monday, January 26, 2015 in the McArthur Church of Christ, 440 Engle Dr., McArthur with Dale Wilkinson and Pastor Carl Radcliff officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Vinton County. Friends may call at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, on Sunday from 5-8 p.m. and on Monday, one hour prior to the services at the church.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Heartland Hospice, 205 North St., Lucasville, Ohio 45648.
