Donna Jean Baggs

Donna Jean Baggs, 81, of Chauncey, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. She was born July 23, 1933 in Chauncey, the daughter of the late Ethel Smith and Earl Morgan. She was the widow of the late Thomas Baggs Sr., who passed away in 2004, for 53 years.

Donna attended The First Baptist Church in Athens and the Romans Road Church. She was a member of the Chauncey Senior Citizens and enjoyed reading.

She is survived by her sons, Thomas (Dorothy) Baggs Jr. of Chauncey, Mark (Beth) Baggs of Sufferin, NY and Joseph Baggs of Martins Ferry; daughter, Marlene (Steve) Potkoski of Adena; 14 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and a brother, Billy (Pam) Aleshire of Pomeroy.


In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Alan Baggs.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 6, 2015 at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Pastor Barry Bolin officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery New Addition, Nelsonville. Friends may call from 12:00 PM, until the time of service, at the funeral home.
