Garnet L. Bryan

March 28, 1928 — February 24, 2015

Garnet L. Bryan, 86, of Pataskala, formerly of Logan, went peacefully to be with the Lord, Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark. She was born March 28, 1928 in Hocking County, daughter of the late Charles and Nellie Knipe Warthman. Garnet was the widow of the late Robert C. Bryan.

She was a graduate of Logan High School and went on to pursue a career in Nursing. Garnet worked as a nurse in Nelsonville and Lancaster Hospitals and then in later years worked at the Hocking County Health Department. After retirement, she and her husband were active members of the Hocking Hills Artist and Craftsman Association. Garnet was also a member of Faith Memorial Church in Lancaster.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah A. (Dan) Bryan-Eckard of Pataskala; brothers, Lawrence Warthman of Lancaster and James (Janet) Warthman of Alma, Michigan; sisters, Eleanor Walters of Lancaster, Nola Eckhart of Canal Winchester and Helen Dupler of Sparks, Nevada; sister-in-law, Mary Louise Frey of Logan and many wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Earl and Willis Warthman; brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Thelma Bryan and brothers-in-law, Addison Frey, Sock Walters and Lester Eckhart.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 3, 2015 in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, with Pastor Mel Truex officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Logan. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, from 5-7 p.m.
