Charles A. Stump, 78, Nelsonville, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2015 at his residence. He was born April 19, 1936, in Carbondale, son of the late Charles and Edith Winona Hill Stump. He was married to Dixie Marstiller Stump, who survives, for 56 years.
Charles retired from the Le-Ax Water District and attended the Asbury United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Betty (Wayne) Clark and Bev (Andy) Russell both of Nelsonville, Bernadette Chaney of McArthur and Jean (John) Riffle of Zaleski; grandchildren, Andrea (Darin) Tripper, Jackie (Bruce) Riffle, Ben Chaney, Michael (Jessie) Chaney, Jeremiah (Wendy) Riffle, Nick (Mandy) Chaney and Jenna (Josh) Nichols; 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Clifford, Eddie, Willard, Paul Howard and Floyd Stump and his sisters, Irene Trimble, Ella Bodkins, Mildred Brumfield, Faye Reeves, Gladys Holley and Jane Thomas.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Pastor Sheryl and Rev. Dr. Walt Goble officiating. Interment will be at Asbury Cemetery in Hocking County. Friends may call Monday from 5-8 PM, at the funeral home.
