David A. Chapman, 75, of Logan, passed away Monday, March 16, 2015 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. He was born March 3, 1940 in Springfield, Ohio, son of the late Elgrave and Helen Swartzbaugh Chapman. David was married for 26 years to Barbara Matheny Chapman, who survives.
He retired from Logan Clay Products as the Plant Superintendent, was a member of the Logan Moose Lodge and The Hocking Hills Golf Club. David was also a season ticket holder for Logan Hocking Sports.
He is survived by his sons, Gary Chapman of Logan, Craig Chapman of Indianapolis and Ronald Chapman of Logan; a stepdaughter, Deborah Knott (Stephen) Powell of Logan; grandchildren, Kerry, Todd, Ryan and Dakota; four great grandchildren; sisters, Jane Carman of Ft. Myers, Florida and Donna (Jack) Musser of Norton, Ohio and a sister-in-law, Velma Chapman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Earl Chapman and brother-in-law, Dick Carman.
A memorial service will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, April 2, 2015 in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan. It was David’s wishes to be cremated. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, one hour prior to the services, April 2, 2015.
