Arthur Harold West, 81, of Albany, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015 at his residence. He was born January 25, 1934 in Prattsville, son of the late Clyde and Mabel Andrews West. Art was married to the late Shirley Cottrill West.
He was a retired truck driver and an Army Veteran. Art was a life member of the McArthur Eagles AERIE #2279, a life member of the Vinton County Agricultural Society and attended Radcliff Fellowship Chapel.
He is survived by his sons, James (Teresa Snider) West of Wilkesville and Clyde (Christie) West of Albany; grandchildren, Alison and Jared West; brothers, Aaron West of Zaleski, Tom West of Zaleski and Charles West of Creola and a sister, Mae Mulhern of Prattsville.
In addition to his parents and wife, Art was preceded in death by his brother, Bill West.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Thursday, March 26, 2015 in the Radcliff Fellowship Chapel, State Route 160 and State Route 32, Radcliff. Interment will be in Radcliff Cemetery, Radcliff, with military graveside services being conducted by the McArthur VFW Post #5299. Friends may call at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, on Wednesday, from 6-8 p.m. and on Thursday, one hour prior to the service at the church.
