Christine Lucile McDonald, 65, of Pomeroy, passed away Monday, March 23, 2015 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. She was born December 25, 1949 in Athens, the daughter of the late Emmett Lee “Dick” and Margaret J. “Peggy” Story McDonald.
Christine attended the Ohio University and Marietta Beauty College. She was a proud owner of Across the Street Hair Design Studio in Durham, North Carolina. Compassionate, energetic, creative, beautiful, selfless, generous and thoughtful are just a few words that you can use to describe her. She loved everyone and loved animals; in fact she had rescued many animals over the years.
She is survived by her daughters, Jessica (Tod) Miller of Mobile, AL, Betsy (Corey) O’Malley of Hillsborough, NC; grandchildren, Margaret Elizabeth Miller and Katherine Maeve O’Malley; brother, Richard McDonald of Pomeroy; sister, Carolyn (Fritz) Bookman of Nelsonville; former husband and friend, Paul Lash of Roanoke, VA; aunt, Janice (Charles) Lochary of Charlotte, NC; devoted friend, Mary K. Walsh of Columbus; many nieces, nephews and cousins as well as an endless list of extremely close friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Mark McDonald and nephews, Patrick Bookman and Patrick McDonald.
Christine’s wishes were to be cremated. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with the Rev. Christopher Bookman officiating. Friends may call from 12:00 PM, until the time of service, at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Meigs County Humane Society, PO Box 682, Pomeroy, OH 45769.
