Helen C. Parry

Helen lived exceptionally for 83 years. She passed away peacefully on April 8 from a sudden illness. She was born in Vinton County to Joseph and Catherine Bighouse. She was one of 8 children. Kathleen, Joan, Eileen, Frank, Donna, Betty Ann and Phillip preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter Christina (George) Warbington, the light of her life her grandson Zachary (Kristen) Adams and his father Kelly Adams, her loving nieces and nephew Peg, Lori, Cathy and Michael and many dear friends.

She worked at Risch’s and Kroger in Logan where she was the smiling face for all she came in contact with. Helen loved people and her greatest joy was helping others. She was never too busy to lend a hand to anyone in need or a cup of coffee and an ear to listen. She always gave more than she received.

Thankfully, on April 7 Helen was able to witness the marriage of her grandson Zachary to his love Kristen. Missing their planned December wedding would have been her only regret.

In lieu of calling hours or funeral service the family will be hosting a Celebration of Life on Saturday April 25 at the Izaak Walton Lodge in Logan at 4pm. The family will receive friends from 2-4pm. There will be food, music and laughter to celebrate a life well lived.
In lieu of flowers, Helen would have preferred donations be made to OSU James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute Center 460 W. 10th Avenue Columbus, Ohio or Fairhope Hospice 282 Sells Road Lancaster, Ohio. Better yet the next time you see anyone struggling with a heavy load stop, smile, lend them a hand and then gently suggest that they pay it forward.
