Myrtle Irene Reffitt

April 29, 1938 — May 30, 2015

Myrtle Irene Reffitt, caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 30, 2015. At age 77, Myrtle passed away at CAMC Hospital in Charleston, West Virginia just days after she sustained injuries from a heart-breaking fall.

Myrtle was born April 29, 1938 in Logan, West Virginia to the late Ollie and Leon Harvey. In her younger days, Myrtle enjoyed swimming, going to yard sales and playing bingo. Myrtle had a special gift for gardening and she absolutely loved spending time visiting with family and friends. Known for her strong will, determination and love of children, Myrtle will never be forgotten.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life Amos Reffitt; as well as, all of her adoring siblings. She is survived by her devoted son Donald Osborne and his wife Charlotte; grandchildren Jessie Osborne (wife Tracy), Tammy Osborne-Smith (husband Wayne); great-grandchildren Lucas Smith, Joshua Osborne and Sophia Osborne; several nieces and nephews; and a number of other relatives and close friends.

Services will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Maggie’s Home Church in Dundas with Elders Johnnie Thornsbury, Donald Mullins and Harrison Runyon officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Friends may call at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur on Wednesday, from 5-8 p.m. and on Thursday, one hour prior to the service at the church.
