Joan Byers Connor

Joan Byers Connor, 86, of Logan, passed away June 1, 2015 at the Westminster-Thurber Community in Columbus. She was born August 5, 1928 in Pittsburgh, PA, daughter of the late Paul H. and Lulu McGeary Byers. She was the widow of the late Jerry M. Connor.

Joan was a retired school teacher at Logan Hocking Schools and Hocking College. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church and The Tourist Club.

She is survived by her son, John B. Connor of Columbus; daughters, Eileen (John) Schein of Logan and Frances (James) Holloway of Pickerington; grandchildren, Amy, Leslie, Matthew, Jeremy, Andrew, Jay and Michael; 9 great grandchildren and her sister-in-law, Solange Byers of Sycamore IL.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Donald R. Byers.

At Joan’s request, private graveside services will be held in Oak Grove Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Joan’s honor to the American Cancer Society, 5555 Frantz Rd., Dublin, OH 43017.
