Luther Lee Cain, 82, of South Salem, Ohio, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2015 at his residence. He was born May 4, 1933 in Beauty, Kentucky, son of the late Frank and Ada Collier Cain. Luther was married to Betty McGlaughlin Cain, who survives.
He was a retired school teacher from Columbus Public School and was a life member of the National Rifle Association.
Luther is survived by his son, Martin (Jackie) Cain of McArthur; daughters, Charlotte Jewett of Logan, Karen Cain of Commercial Point, Ohio and Laura (Barry) Caudill of Mt. Sterling, Ohio; five grandchildren, Brad, Curtis, Adam, Brittany and Mackenzie; several great grandchildren and a sister, Irene Wood of Sunbury, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Floyd, Paul, Edgar and Franklin.
Graveside services will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 24, 2015 in the Cain Family Cemetery, on Eggleston Rd., Vinton County, with Chaplain Billy Morris officiating. No calling hours will be observed. Arrangements are by Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur.
