Howard Jackson Coleman

Howard Jackson Coleman, 63, of McArthur, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2015 in Grant Hospital in Columbus, in the presence of his family and close friends. He was born August 20, 1951 in McArthur, Ohio, son of the late Howard and Mary (Milford Botlon) Coleman.

He graduated from Vinton County High School in 1970. After graduating high school, Howard enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served 4 years, completing 2 tours in Vietnam.

Howard is survived by his daughter, Sarah (Marcus) Rei; grandsons, Regan and Anderson; four of his siblings, Diane (Jerry) Ousley, June Coleman, Ralph (Cindy) Coleman and Bob (Diane) Coleman and many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his six siblings, Hazel Short, Carolyn McManis, Kay Coffey, Glenn Coleman, Billy Coleman and Sheila Coleman.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m., Sunday, July 5, 2015 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Rev. Jerry Griffith Jr. officiating. Inurnment will be held in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Vinton County, with military graveside services being conducted by the McArthur VFW Post #5299. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
