Gary H. Barron

Gary H. Barron, 68, of Nelsonville, passed away Monday, July 20, 2015 at his residence. He was born February 16, 1947, in Logan, son of the late Porter and Elizabeth Ann Fisk Barron. He was married to Carolyn K. Wycuff Barron for 42 years.

Gary retired from the Ohio University Police Departmernt and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Augustus Jason (Mary Beth) Barron of Coolville, Heather (David) Miller of Nelsonville and Kim (Allen Flickinger) Barron of Chauncey; grandchildren, Tiffany (Don Platt) Barron of Nelsonville, Eric Barron of Nelsonville, Augustus Jason “A.J.” (Louisa) Barron Jr. of Greens Run and David Jeremiah Miller of Nelsonville; several great grandchildren; brother, Steve (Rita) Barron of Logan; sisters-in-law, Jean Blair of Nelsonville, Helen Holdren of Logan and Esther Matthews of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; brothers-in-law, Darl Wycuff and Harold Wycuff both of Logan; numerous nieces and nephews and special friends, Roger W. (Jane) Davis of Nelsonville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Howard and Gertrude “Peg” Fisk; parents-in-law, Lawrence and Stella Wycuff; brother-in-law, Edward Wycuff and sister-in-law, Mary Jennings.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, July 24, 2015 at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Rev. Ernie Perkins officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call Thursday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
