Robert Vincent O'Neal Peacock

Robert Vincent O’Neil Peacock, 92, of McArthur, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015 at his residence. He was born October 17, 1922 in McArthur, son of the late Francis Murphy and Edna Mary Mattison Peacock.

Robert was a Veteran of WWII and Vietnam. He was a retired Chief Master Sergeant with the United States Air Force and also retired from the McArthur Post Office. Robert was a member of St. Sylvester Catholic Church in Zaleski.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews, including Sharon and Robert Brotherton of McArthur and special friends, Samantha Hildegras of Concord, North Carolina and Steve Kirby of McArthur.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his brothers, Francis Murphy Peacock Jr. and Glenn Peacock and sisters, Kathleen Moyer, Marguerite Slagle and Ralphline Smith.

Graveside services will be held 10 a.m., Friday, September 4, 2015 in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Military graveside services will be conducted by the McArthur VFW Post #5299. No visitation will be held. Arrangements are by Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur.
