Anna Lee McKenzie Newman, 90, of McArthur, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at her residence. She was born May 22, 1925 in Dunham, Letcher Co., Kentucky.
She is survived by her sons, Dewey (Pat) Newman, of McArthur, Howard (Beverly) Newman of McArthur, Clayton (Pat) Newman of McArthur and Joe Newman of Hamden; daughters, Linda (John) Collins of McArthur and Carolyn Brown of McArthur; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; half brother, Jerry Chandler of Jackson and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey McKenzie and Lydia Osborne McKenzie Chandler; husband, Kennel Newman; infant sister, Buelah McKenzie; brother, Hargus Roscoe McKenzie and half brother, Jack Chandler.
She was a devout Christian who attended Holiness Pilgrim Church in Wellston and was a rancher, who loved her cattle.
Graveside services will be held 1 p.m., Friday, September 11, 2015 in Elk Cemetery, McArthur with Rev. Bob Jividen officiating, accompanied by Leslie Allen singing . No calling hours will be observed. Arrangements are by Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur.
