Essie Lucille Lash, 86, of Marion, formerly of McArthur, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Kingston Assisted Living in Marion, Ohio. She was born October 4, 1928 in McArthur, daughter of the late Sanford Bundy and Gertrude Davis Perry. Essie was married to George E. Lash, who survives.
She was a member and Deaconess of the First Christian Church in McArthur, where she held numerous offices and was also a member of the Circle of Ruth. Essie was a former 4-H Advisory.
She is survived by her son, George Douglas “Doug” (Ellen) Lash of McArthur; daughters, Patricia “Pat” (Karen Edmunds) Peoples of McArthur, Jean Jackson of Albany and Julie (Michael) Radcliff of Marion; eight grandchildren, Phillip Lash, Stephanie Blaine, Sarah Norton, Kyle Jackson, Katie Lash, Eric Radcliff, Kayla Radcliff and Emily Radcliff; four great grandchildren, Braydin Jackson, Sophia Norton, Natalie Norton and Luke Norton; brothers, Phillip Perry of Columbus and Paul Perry of Beverly and sisters, Mary Lou Dearth of McArthur and Margaret Sanders of Millfield.
In addition to her parents, Essie was preceded in death by her brother, Roger Perry and son-in-law, Kevin Jackson.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, September 18, 2015 in the First Christian Church, 207 E. High St., McArthur, with Pastor Carl Radcliff officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Friends may call at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, on Thursday, from 4-8 p.m. and on Friday, one hour prior to the service at the church.
