Lola Louise Flowers

Lola Louise Flowers, 98, of Nelsonville, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2015 at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster. She was born November 22, 1916 in Buchtel, the daughter of the late John and Blanche Hampton Dearing. She was the widow of the late Roy Flowers.

Lola formerly attended the First Presbyterian Church in Nelsonville. She was a wonderful homemaker who loved children and country music. She had an incredible memory and was a wealth of knowledge about music and local history.

She is survived by her son, Jonathan Roy Flowers of Nelsonville; daughters, LaDonna Rae (Carl) Michael of Wichita Falls, Texas and Jane Flowers of Nelsonville; grandchildren, Bill Flowers of Nelsonville, Crystal (Terry “Moose”) Woltz of Logan, Ross (Pam) Flowers of Salem, Ohio, Candace Flowers Parker of Nelsonville, LeAmber Flowers of Nelsonville, Jonathan Christopher Flowers of Abilene, Texas and her very close grandson, Anthony Davis of Nelsonville; many wonderful great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren of whom she was very proud; nephews and niece, Harry Hitchings, Tom McQuaid, Bruce Dearing, Merle Dearing and Carolyn McQuaid.

In addition to her husband and parents, Lola was preceded in death by a son, Gary Flowers; grandson, Michael Michael; sister, Lillian Hitchings and brothers, Clarence, John, Orville and Walter Dearing and sister-in-law, Pauline Wemmer.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, October 22, 2015 at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St, Nelsonville with Rev Peter Galbraith officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call Wednesday, October 21, 2015 from 4-7 PM at the funeral home.
