Mary Jane Richards

Mary Jane Richards, 78, of McArthur, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Maple Hills Nursing Home in McArthur. She was born November 11, 1936 in Hansford, West Virginia, daughter of the late Wesley and Nedra Stewart Simmons. Mary was the widow of the late Robert F. Richards Sr.

Mary is survived by her sons, Robert F. Richards of Union Furnace and Larry A. Richards of McArthur; daughters, Teresa (Carl) Ashmore of McArthur, Dawn Thompson of McArthur and Beverly Jean (Johnny) Wilder of Franklin, Ohio; fifteen grandchildren; seven adopted grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; nine adopted great grandchildren and sisters, Sonja White, Willa (Fred) Snodgrass, Brenda Simmons and Patty Pauley.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Debra McManis; three grandsons and sisters, Catherine and Sue Simmons.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Friday, October 30, 2015 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Rev. Jim Taylor officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
