Pegge L. Durkin

Pegge L. Durkin, 79, formerly of McArthur, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2015 at Echo Manor Rehabilitation Center in Pickerington, Ohio. She was born October 15, 1936 in Vinton County to the late Bernard James Durkin and Wilma Louise (Ziegler) Durkin and granddaughter to Artie (Oris) Ziegler and Olla Marie (Lee) Ziegler.

She is survived by her sister, Bonnie Jean Salatin of Ft. Thomas, Kentucky; brothers, Bernard (Barbara) Durkin of Carroll, Ohio and Michael (Judy) Durkin of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, as well as twelve nieces and nephews and numerous grand nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and grandparents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Terrance Ormond in 2011 as well as her brothers, Donald Lee Durkin in 1976 and Arthur Kent Durkin in 2013.

Pegge was a graduate of McArthur High School in 1954 and Holzer School of Nursing in 1956. She worked as a Registered Nurse in Columbus for a short period until she moved to Cincinnati, where she worked at Cincinnati General and Christ Hospitals. She also worked at several nursing homes in the Cincinnati and Covington area, until she retired at 71.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Thursday, November 5, 2015 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Rev. Jerry Griffith Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
