Melvin Jay Partee

Melvin Jay Partee, 73, of McArthur, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2105 at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe. He was born July 28, 1942 in McArthur, son of the late Herschel and Zella Sowers Partee. Melvin was married to the late Janie Steele Partee.

He was a retired lineman for AEP and a member of the First Christian Church in McArthur. Melvin was a 50 year member of Delta Lodge #207 F&AM in McArthur, a member of Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus, the Aladdin Temple Shrine, McArthur Eagles and McArthur VFW. He was also a former member of the McArthur Fire Department and the McArthur Village Council.

Melvin is survived by his son, Andy (Maxine) Partee of Chillicothe; daughter, Angie (Rick) Maier of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Shane and Andrea Maier, whom he loved dearly; twin brother, Marvin (JoAnne) Partee of McArthur and brother, Larry Partee of Chillicothe.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Monday, November 9, 2015 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Rev. Jim Taylor officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, from 5-8 p.m. with a Masonic service being held at 7 p.m. and on Monday, one hour prior to the service.
