Roger “Trix” Hayden, 83, of Buchtel, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Kimes Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Athens. He was born December 29, 1931 in Buchtel, son of the late John W. and Nellie Coakley Hayden.
Trix retired from the Standard Oil Company (SOHIO) and was a veteran of the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of The Plains VFW Post 7174 and Murray City American Legion Post 420 and a life member of the Nelsonville Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. #543.
He is survived by son and daughter-in-law JD and Kim Hayden of Buchtel; sisters, Emma Jean (Chuck) Magley of Grove City and Nancy (Robert) Locke of Alliance; sisters-in-law, JoAnne Hayden of Marion and Connie Hayden of Buchtel; good friend, Tom Anderson and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Trix was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Riley and brothers, John, Floyd, Willard, Albert, Paul Ed and Gary Hayden.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Pastor Michael Thomas officiating. Inurnment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call Saturday, November 28, 2015 from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
