Eugene L. Workman

Eugene L. Workman, 99, formerly of Logan and Athens, passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Westminster-Thurber Community in Columbus. He was born May 21, 1916 in Reesville, Ohio, son of the late Romie B. and Ruchie Hess Workman. Eugene was married to the late Mary Ellen Adams Workman.

He was the owner and operator of Vanadium Tool Company, Sunset Motel and the Dairy Queen, all in Athens and the Sleep Haven Motel in Belpre. Eugene also owned and operated Mecto Tool Company in Greenfield, Ohio worked at Ohio University.

He is survived by his son, Samuel (Beverly) Workman of Athens; daughters, Sharon Schoonover of Chauncey and Susan (Fred) Ball of Westerville; grandchildren, Todd Workman, Lynn Ziegler, Jerry Schoonover, Alana Graham, Laurie Sauber, Michael Thompson and Lisa Tycer; several great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.

Private graveside services will be held in New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Rockbridge. No visitation will be held. Arrangements are by Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan.
