Verta M. Jones

Verta M. Jones, 95, of Nelsonville, passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at The Laurels of Athens. She was born August 25, 1920 in Rutland, the daughter of the late John and Orpha Morrow Miller.

Verta retired from Goodyear in Logan.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Ed Edmonson; grandchildren, Teresa Bustos of Alamosa, Colorado, Brenda (Randy) Poland of Jensen Beach, Florida, Beth (Todd) Taggart of Nelsonville and Angela and Pete Taggart of Nelsonville; great grandchildren, Ashley (James) Putnam, Thomas Taggart, Amanda (Fabian) Aragon and Anthony Glasser; great great granddaughter, Makennah Putnam and her lifelong friend, Maxine Wagner of Nelsonville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 6 sisters and her aunt and uncle whom raised her, Silas and Effie Lanning.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, November 30, 2015 at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St, Nelsonville with Rev Ernie Perkins officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call Monday, 11:00 Am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
