Robert M. Guess

Robert M. Guess, 89, of Nelsonville, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Ohio Health Nelsonville Medical and Emergency Services. He was born April 14, 1926, in Old Floodwood, son of Melvin and Frances Locke Guess. He was married to Mary Helen Brammer Guess, who survives.

Bob graduated from Buchtel High School. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army, retired from the Diamond Brick Plant and drove for Meals on Wheels for ten years after his retirement. He was a member of the Nelsonville VFW Post 3467.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Michael and Kay Guess of Perrysburg and Jimmy Guess of Nelsonville; grandchildren, Ben Guess, Frances Guess, Jamie Guess, Tommy Williams and Robert Guess; seven great grandchildren; sister, Betty (Harold) Bales of Nelsonville and a special niece, Renee Williams.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, December 28, 2015 at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Rev. Ernie Perkins officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville, where a military graveside service will be conducted by the Combined Color Guard Unit. Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home
