Mary Esther Reynolds, 88, of McArthur, passed away Friday, December 25, 2015 at Hustons Nursing Home in Hamden. She was born October 25, 1927 in Vinton County, daughter of the late Howard Jerome and Grace Rosser Penrod. Mary Esther was the widow of the late Everett M. Reynolds.
She was a member of Allensville Christ in Christian Union Church and was a 1945 graduate of McArthur High School.
Mary Esther is survived by her sons, John H. Reynolds of McArthur, Wayne Reynolds of Westerville and Harold (Debbie) Reynolds of McArthur; daughters, Jean (James) Barnett of McArthur and Doris Reynolds of McArthur; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and special friends Mike, Jenny, Carole and Jean.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Sylvester, Melvin, Charles and Larry Penrod; sisters, Anna and Ruth Penrod and Leonetta Tewksbury and daughter-in-law, Pam Reynolds.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 30, 2015 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Rev. Jim McFadden officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Vinton County. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 5-8 p.m.
