Phyllis Leora O'Nail

Phyllis Leora O’Nail, 87, of Nelsonville, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Kimes Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Athens. She was born September 29, 1928 in New Plymouth, the daughter of the late Ralph and Lottie May Spires Jewett. She was the widow of the late Clarence O’Nail.

Phyllis retired from the Brooks Shoe Company and was a member of the Nelsonville Wesleyan Church but most of all she was a loving, devoted wife and mother.

She is survived by her daughters, Rhonda (Dave) Meador of Guysville, Tina (Dave) Wachenschwanz of Doanville and Robbin (Tom) Baden of Wellston; sons, Kevin O’Nail and Willard (Cheryl) O’Nail both of Nelsonville, 68 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by daughter, Reva Dian Erwin; great grandson, Arlo Peter Kachenko; sisters, Maurene Lent, Goldie Messenger, Lorraine Kline and Anna Jean Skivers; brothers, Robert (Mary) Jewett and Infant Earl Jewett.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 16, 2016 at the Nelsonville Wesleyan Church, corner of Chestnut and Harper Sts. with Rev Michael Thomas officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery New Addition, Nelsonville. Friends may call Friday, from 2-8 PM at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville and one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
