Janet Joan Parry, 88, of Logan, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. She was born November 21, 1927 in Hocking County, daughter of the late Harry and Mary Wolfe Sweazy. Janet was the widow of the late John Phillip Parry.
She was a Logan High School graduate of 1945 and attended her 70th class reunion in 2015 with her beloved classmates.
She had been active over the years in Central School PTA, LHS Band Boosters, Eastern Star and Trinity United Methodist Church (T.U.M.). She was a member of the ‘Quilters and Sewers’ group, the Banquet/Kitchen committee, and past Director of Children’s Programs.
She enjoyed reading, sewing, baking, playing the piano and antiques. Most of all, she loved the company of family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Janet is survived by her son, John “Curt” Parry of Logan; daughters, Diane (Gary) Parry-Sarver of Athens, Cathy (Clark) Sheets of Logan and Mary Beth (Brooks Fuller) Parry of Lancaster; grandchildren, Maura Parry Dillen, Brian Sheets, Amy Sheets, Keith Trowbridge, Malissa Trowbridge, Josh Tamayo-Sarver and Ashley Sarver; and great grandchildren, Shannan, Sophia, Jolianna, Andrew, Teeter, Sam, Isaac, Daniel, Veronica, Clay and Paige.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 16, 2016 in Oak Grove Cemetery, Logan, with Rev. Rick Bennington officiating. Friends may call at the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, on Monday, February 15, 2016 from 5-8 p.m.
