Clarence "Wudge" N. Hillyer

Clarence N. “Wudge” Hillyer, 82, of Chauncey, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at his residence. He was born January 27, 1934 in Chauncey, son of the late Charles and Ivy Hillyer. Wudge was married to the late Charlotte Jean Matheny Hillyer.

He retired from Coca Cola Bottling Company and was a Marine Veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Wudge is survived by his son, Johnnie (Kelly) Hillyer of Columbus; daughters, Theresa (Peter) Furlong of Columbus, Linda (Allen) Hillyer Of Columbus, Julie Hillyer of Grove City, Karen (Rick) Gerst of North Carolina and Pamela (James) Everhart of Greenfield; eleven grandchildren; many great grandchildren; sister, Sue White of Nelsonville and his companion, Mary Lou Triplett.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Hillyer; brothers, Terry, Bill, Dean and Ernie and sisters, Bonnie and Donnie.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Monday, February 15, 2016 in the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Pastor Mike Thomas officiating. Interment will be in Hilltop Cemetery, Millfield. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
