Virginia L. “Jingle” Smith, 79, of Rockbridge, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster. She was born March 20, 1936 in Carbon Hill, Ohio, daughter of the late Roscoe and Amelia Schafer Evans. She was married to William “Bill” Smith for 56 years who survives.
She was retired from Standard Textile Co. in Cincinnati. Jingle was a member of the Union United Methodist Church and volunteered often for the Am. Vets. Blood Drives.
Along with her husband, she is survived by daughter, Miriam “Mimi” (Mark) Davis of Wittmann, Arizona; son, James “Jim” (Eileen Pine) Smith of Cincinnati; grandchildren, Anthony (Brandi) Smith of Jacksonville, Florida and Terina (Gary) Stacy of Cincinnati; great-grandchildren, Breauna, Alexis, Olivia and Taylor and Devin, Kaelynn and Madilynn; brother, David (Phyllis) Evans of St. Louis and sister, Miriam Tootle of Logan.
At the request of the family, no services will be held.
