Orville "Sonny" Ackison Jr.

Orville “Sonny” Ackison Jr., 75, of Nelsonville, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster. He was born February 25, 1941, son of the late Orville and Emma Jane Grose Ackison.

He retired from Yorde Machine shop and was formerly a member of the Goldwing Club and the Logan Moose.

Sonny is survived by his daughters, Angela Jane (David) Bach of Nelsonville and Hillsboro and Amy (Mitchell) Motko of Schuylkill Haven, PA; grandchildren, Michael Clark (Rachel) Miller, Anna Jane Miller, Daniel Lee Miller, Max Neal Motko, Emma Louise Motko and Ella Janine Motko; great grandchildren, Hollie, Kelsie and Adelyn Miller; brother, Dan (Nancy) Ackison of Hawesville, KY and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Rebecca Ackison.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 18, 2016 at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Rev King Kelly officiating. Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
