Mary F. Shafer

Mary F. Shafer, 76, of Danville, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. She was born September 28, 1939 in Clio, West Virginia, daughter of the late Jim and Flossie Critchfield Nichols. Mary was married to Charles F. Shafer for 56 years, who survives.

She was a member of the Sereno Chapter #128 O.E.S. in McArthur.

Mary is survived by her son, Brian Shafer of San Diego, California; daughters, Debbie Bolton of McArthur and Pamela Laferty of Chillicothe; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren and a sister, Opal Beadie of Canton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Joy Shafter; sister, Sarah and brothers, Ovie, Orville, Floyd and Arley.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2016 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Rev. Jerry Griffith Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Friends may call at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, on Tuesday, from 5-8 p.m. where an Eastern Star service will be held at 7 p.m.
