John W. Sheets

John W. Sheets, 64, of Nelsonville, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at his residence. He was born July 22, 1951 in Nelsonville, son of the late Wilford John and Virgene E. Grinstead Sheets. John was the widower of the late Judy Teal Sheets.

He formerly worked for Seneca Steel and Steelco and was a veteran of the United States Army.

John is survived by his children Justin Sheets of Lancaster and Jamie (Glenn) Lewis of Marysville; grandchildren, Travis Sheets, Larissa Sheets, Dani Lewis and Austin Lewis; brothers, Roy (Carol) Sheets of Nelsonville, Bob (Becky) Sheets of Albany, Mike (Connie) Sheets of Albany, Steve (Terri) Sheets of New Straitsville and Chuck (Christy) Sheets of Athens; special companion and caregiver, Mary Ellen Teal; special friends and biker brother, Bill and Tammy Adams and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Gary and Tim Sheets.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Military rites will be conducted by the Combined Color Guard Unit. Arrangements are by Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
