Barbara Ann Laferty

Barbara Ann Laferty, 81, of McArthur, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. She was born July 23, 1934 in Vinton County, daughter of the late Donald and Ruth Lowe Thompson. Ann is survived by her husband of 63 years, Bobby Laferty.

She was a member of the McArthur Free Will Baptist Church.

Ann is also survived by her daughter, Donna (John) Leonard of San Diego, California; granddaughter, Nancy (Ryan) Harris of McArthur and her mother, Virginia; great grandchildren, Tyler and Gunnar Barnett; brother, Scott (Irene) Thompson of Wellston; nieces, Louise, Mary, Carol and Lisa; nephews, Larry, Mark and Bill and special friend, Leland.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, James D. Laferty and sister, Betty Bowman.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, June 11, 2016 at the McArthur Free Will Baptist Church, 408 W. Main St., McArthur, with Rev. Jim Henderson officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Friends may call at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, on Friday, from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday, one hour prior to the services at the church.
