William Lester Mays

William Lester Mays, 89, of Logan, passed away Friday, June 17, 2016 at The Pickering House in Lancaster. He was born May 10, 1927 in Hocking County, son of the late James E. and Bertha A. Hughes Mays. Lester was married to the late Harriet S. Wray Mays.

He retired from Bendix Westinghouse and was a WWII Army Air Force Veteran.

Lester is survived by his sisters, Irene Lehman and Bessie Mays, both of Logan and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald, Robert, Raymond, Glen, Earl, Jimmy and Dale Mays and sister, Gayle Mays.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 22, 2016 in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, with Pastor Andy Good officiating. Interment will be in New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Rockbridge, with military graveside services being conducted by the Hocking County Color Guard Unit. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
