John Gregory Barber

John Gregory Barber, 62, of Albany, formerly of Dayton, passed away Friday, June 24, 2016 as a result of a motorcycle accident. He was born February 5, 1954 in Dayton, son of John Ward Barber of Albany and the late Betty Ruth Wiley Barber.

Greg was a former machinist, a member of the Delta Lodge #207 F&AM in McArthur and the McArthur VFW Post #5299.

He is survived by his daughter, Ruth Ellen (James) Heidenreich of Dayton; son, John Gregory (Jennifer) Barber of Dayton; three grandchildren; brother, Roger Barber; sister, Darlene (Paul) Barber-Morris and nieces and nephews, Jennifer Brooks, Roger Barber Jr., Rachel Barber and Jessica Barber.

In addition to his mother, Greg is preceded in death by his nephew, Michael Ward Barber.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the McArthur VFW Post #5299, 401 Veterans Memorial Drive, McArthur. No calling hours will be observed.

Arrangements are by Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur.
