John Michael Shafer

John Michael Shafer, 46, of Vinton, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Heartland of Jackson. He was born September 8, 1969 in Athens, son of John F. and Pearl S. Gambill Shafer of Vinton. John was married to the late Brandy Shough Shafer.

He was a supervisor for AVI Company in Jackson.

In addition to his parents, John is survived by his sons, John Michael Shafer Jr. and Andrew Parker Shafer, both of Vinton; daughters, Mariah Marie Shough-Shafer of Vinton, Savanna Rayne Shough of Cincinnati and Ciara Shough of Pataskala; sisters, Debbie (Mike) Lackey of Wellston and Darla (Tracy) Hager of Columbus; nephews, Jordan Lackey of Wellston, Justin Lackey of Westerville and Devon Fogle of Columbus and a niece, Christina Wolf of Germany.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Monday, July 11, 2016 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Rev. Stan Howard officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
