Wirth, Jarod M. Wirth, and Silas J. Seager; brothers and sisters, Charles (Shirley) Roley, Patricia Roley, Kenneth (Bonnie) Roley, Linda Rayburn, Jan (Steve) Shaw, Ruth K. (Larry) McCormick, Mary Faye (Robert) Croft, John (Andrea) Roley, Bill Kennedy, Bob (Vicki) Roley as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family. The family would like to acknowledge the special relationships that Jim had with his nephew, Wes Roley, who was like a second son to Jim and held a very special place in his heart and his niece, Shelley Zeisler, who faithfully sent cards that truly uplifted and supported him through his journey.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Ruth Roley; brothers and sisters, Don “Fuzz” Roley, Barbara (Bill) Reese, Don Rayburn, Gladys Kennedy and Alma Roley.
Jim was a Vietnam veteran where he received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and Vietnam Service and Campaign Medals. He also received two outstanding service bars. He was an expert with the M-14. He was a tank driver and an M-16 marksman. He was a member of Trinity Sponagle Lutheran Church in Sugar Grove, Ohio. He retired from Anchor Hocking where he worked as a millwright. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and all around woodsman. He was one of the best morel hunters around. He played music for the majority of his life. He was an amazing guitar player and was the lead singer in several bands in his heyday. He enjoyed playing guitar with his daughter, Brandie, in his twilight years. He was an all- around handyman and passed those skills on to all of his children. He was a collector of many things and built extra garages to house all of his treasures. Jim was the strong, silent type, yet he had a playful, amazing sense of humor. He was soft-hearted and a source of comfort to those close to him. He was thrilled to be a grandpa and fought hard to spend as much time as he could with his “special little buddy”, Silas, who loves his grandpa dearly. In his spare time, he loved western movies and a good cup of coffee. He also enjoyed a good meal with friends or family. He would always say, “You can call me whatever you want, just don’t all me late for dinner.” He will be missed dearly, but will live on in the hearts of those that love him.
